LITTLE EVENT, SCHOOL DIVISION

 

 

UPDATE  - MAY 27, 2010
 
As the old saying goes, we can’t control the weather!
 
After consulting with several meteorologists and due to the temperature, rain, wind and the possibility of snow, we felt it necessary for the safety, comfort and the total experience for the children, to cancel the event for May 28th at Laurier Park.  
 
We had record numbers this year for the Little Event and we look forward to your continued support in 2011!
 
Please note that we are making arrangements to deliver the water bottles that the children would have received through the school distribution centres.  

 

There is NO COST to schools!

 

The target grade levels are grades 3 - 9, however, we will leave this up to the teacher's discretion if they wish to enter a grade 1 or 2 class.


PLEASE NOTE: The "Run, Jump and Throw" activities and the 1.75 km walk/run are designed to be a challenge, and will take approximately 90 minutes of continuous physical activity.

School Registration is now closed.  Thank you to the 5,500 that have registered! 

 

 

School registration is coordinated through school board physical education consultants, allocated on a first come, first served basis. School registration information will be distributed to Edmonton Schools in April, 2010. There will be a picnic area with music, demonstrations and activities for schools who want to spend more time with us (at the teacher's discretion). All students will receive a water bottle and snack.

 

Parents are welcome to attend, but in order to maximize the space available on the buses for the kids; they are encouraged to meet the students at Laurier Park (next to Valley Zoo). There will be a designated parking area for parents.

Parents - want to join in on the fun?  Be a Little Big Run (LBR) Host!  Help safely escort school children off the ETS buses, then spend the rest of the day enjoying the activities with your child at the Park.
